A run feast was delivered up in the traditional Valley of Peace Cricket Club end of season fixture. Played in the 25-over rotation format and in glorious conditions the bat dominated the ball in a high scoring encounter.
Inserted , The Captains Team were 108/1 at the end of their first session, with Jonathon Davidson continuing his good ‘Valley” form, scoring 61 and debutant Dean Iggo (51) completely dominating The Presidents attack . In reply “The Pressies “ went to lunch at 80/4.
The Captain’s XI dominance continued after lunch with Kade Atkinson hitting a hard-hitting 51 and Kent Summerfield 41 contributing to the Captain’s imposing total of 244. Even with valiant efforts from Hugo Davison (78) and Jessie Tritschler. The Presidents came up 46 runs short.
A huge thanks for all who contributed to this special end of season occasion , especially our hosts Clyde Sugden , Owen Jones and Tina Cartwright, as well as James Barringer and Greg Hills who captained the sides.
