Christchurch Boys High School Old Boys XI fielded a strong side with Matt Parr, Matt McClintock and David Wakefield having their first games at the Valley. Unfortunately, the Christ’s College XI was hit by the unavailability of some key players due to the early grape harvest .
CBHS won the toss and Matt Parr and Dayle Eathorne were a handful with Matt 3 for 5 and Dayle 1 for 13 off their respective 4 over spells. With College reeling from this onslaught it was left to Andrew Gould to try to save the innings. Andrew hit out strongly with a bold 72 carrying CC to 147 of 35 overs.
Early wickets for College were encouraging with Joseph Till 2 for 16 and Hugo Davison 3 for 13 more than a handful. CBHS were fortunate however to have their innings anchored by Matt McClintock 65 and reached their target in the 37th over with 4 wickets in hand .
