A great game with the Valley of Peace President’s team batting first. Some excellent bowling off their respective 8 overs saw David Lau at 4 for 20, Tim Yardley 2 for 20 and Kade Atkinson 1 for 8. Notwithstanding this bowling onslaught, DS Banks dug in and contributed 34 valuable runs supporting a quality innings of 77 by Tom Music.
The Captain’s XI was left to chase 157 which looked well within their capabilities. Kade Atkinson lead the run chase with a useful 47 but the batsmen were well contained by a superb 8 over spell by Tony Gray returning 7 for 2. With some 6 overs to go victory looked well within sight for the Captain’s XI with only a dozen runs needed. Enter John Kerrison for a short spell capturing 2 wickets quickly for a handful of runs. Unfortunately with only 2 runs to get the final wicket fell, much to the delight of the President’s XI.
