The toss was lost by the Valley of Peace, and the London NZ Cricket XI put us in to bat on a slow low wicket. We were pleased with our position at 35 overs being in the 80s for the loss of only two wickets. Tom Music and Ryan Cutts worked well together at the top of the order to get us to that position. Unfortunately, we failed to press home the position, finishing on 135 for 9. Most agreed 150 would have been a good total.

The London NZ innings seemed to mirror our own with a couple of early wickets followed by consolidation from their skipper, James Dobson and Glyn Howell. With our bowlers coming back into it towards the end we had an exciting finish with London NZ creeping over the line in the end with a wicket to spare.
