It is with much sadness to report the recent passing of The Valley of Peace Cricket Club‘s Patron, and son of the Club’s founder, John Waters.

After suffering a stroke John, unfortunately, passed away over Easter. While it is never easy to lose a loved one it is probably appropriate that John slipped away at the end of the cricket season after so many years of leadership, dedication, and service to his beloved Valley of Peace Cricket Club.

All members and visitors were recipients of John’s gentlemanly hospitality and generosity which spoke so much about his values; values we should all aspire to achieve and there is no better environment than cricket, and The Valley of Peace Cricket Club, to display them.

John’s love and dedication for the Club and ground was legendary and infectious to all members. He spent his lifetime involved in all aspects of the Club and was very proud of what his father has created and made sure that the Club would continue all its fine traditions that have always been part of The Valley of Peace.

The Club passes on its most sincere condolences, thoughts and prayers to John’s daughters, Jane and Anna.
